Marilyn, Joyce and Melissa are three women living with Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases (SARDs). Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases include lupus, scleroderma, Sjögren’s ‘s syndrome, myositis and vasculitis diseases. In order to increase awareness of SARDs, these women have shared their stories, stories that clearly reveal the ordeals of living with chronic illnesses that are virtually unknown and unrecognized by so many. The stories clearly demonstrate the physical and emotional pain these diseases can cause, and the strength required to manage these diseases on a daily basis; we applaud the courage these women have demonstrated.
