World-Renowned Violinist Jenny Bae, in her Canadian Debut Performance at the May 18th 2017 ARThritis Soirée

VANCOUVER, BC – (Sept. 19, 2016) Arthritis Research Canada will host its fifth annual ARThritis Soirée at The Roof at Hotel Vancouver, Thursday, May 18th 2017 at 7:00 pm. The ARThritis Soirée brings together business and community leaders, philanthropists, doctors, scientists, health care professionals, donors, and others who share a passion and appreciation of art and a desire to support arthritis research.

At this very special event guests will be treated to a performance by world-renowned violinist, Jenny Bae. Jenny Bae’s dazzling performances have wowed international crowds for over a decade, performing solo and with artists such as Luciano Pavarotti, Eric Clapton, Elton John and Andrea Bocelli. The Julliard trained Bae has captivated audiences around the world, most notably the British Royal Family, Crown Princess of Saudi Arabia, George Clooney and Mikhail Gorbachev.

The ARThritis Soirée will be presented as an elegant, evening cocktail affair, including all the necessary components – fabulous hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and wine coupled with an amazing raffle, tempting live and silent auctions, and of course the first ever Canadian performance of Jenny Bae accompanied by members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.  The ARThritis Soirée promises something for everyone.

Why ARThritis Soirée? Research has shown that art is therapeutic and adds to one’s wellbeing, and is therefore a great element in managing chronic disease on a holistic level. Affecting one in six of us and with more than 100 different forms, arthritis is now Canada’s most costly, chronic disease. The need to support arthritis research has never been greater! Each year, the ARThritis Soirée features a different art form and this year’s music performance will be most unique!
